Default I know a GT3 is supposed to smoke, but this?

I have just got this 997.1 GT3 with 45000 miles - This is too much blue smoke, right?

Facts:

The car is shut off after 2 minutes of idle and is sitting on a level floor
Does this every time it has been sitting overnight.
Only smoke on start up and stops smoking after 5-10 seconds
Have no ide of oil consumption
The smoke is blue and smells like burned oil.
Can´t ask previous owner

What do you think ?

video of start up:

The smoke comes here and there, but yes it is that amount. Nothing too extreme....

I actually love it. Civilians freak out and start running....

The beginning looks pretty normal to me. Does it keep smoking as your video was too short to see when the smoke subsided?

The smoke stops 2-5 sek after the video stops. Then no smoke at all.

Thanks for the replies

Good lord. I don't have a gt3 but that does not look normal to me. My gt2 does not smoke at all.

Does it smoke like that if you have taken the car for a long drive (say 20-30 minutes) then put it away overnight? I think that it may be that the two minute run doesn't give everything time to expand to full operating shape. Mine will only smoke like that if I do a short run like you described.

both our prior 997S and now '07 GT3 will smoke upon start up, esp if the car was cold, started, run a few seconds and shut down, or shut off immediately after a hard hot run. Or sat without running for a period of time. Something about oil seeping past the rings and accumulating in the cylinders, and then burned off at ignition. Sometimes it is quite impressive. But it quickly resolves in a few seconds. I just think it is a characteristic of these engines

all the best...

Indeed it is.

I'd be worried if mine DIDN'T smoke.

Mine kills all the Mosquitos with a huge plume but it is hit or miss as to when it decides to do it. Welcome to Mezger.

Sounds just like mine. Drives me nuts... but I try to take comfort in knowing it's "normal"...
