When my son and I tracked our Superformance Cobra, we did have a "tool box" but it was mostly for spare fluids, as the car was easy on the mechanical things. But not having a trailer, I had and have now an AAA service policy, which for a nominal fee gives me free 100 mile flatbed miles, and I used it several times to get our car home, once spun the splines off an axle, once a broken distributor drive, once a failed master cylinder. Used it also for when my Jag blew a water line, and twice when my E30 BMW also blew water lines. Much cheaper than owning and trying to park a trailer.
By the way, by far the biggest expense in tracking our Cobra was race gas. At 9 bucks a gallon for 114 octane, and getting about two laps per gallon at Carolionas Motorsports Park, aka "Kershaw", that big Holley just swigged race gas.
Make sure you have the right tools to do the brakes. Converting to studs if you have not - the carriers are aluminum, and it's really easy to cross thread them - and then you're effed.
Brake pads (Rotors if you're not starting on new ones)
Tools for adjusting sways/tightening the end links
Quart of Oil
If you're running SRF unlikely will need to bleed, but if not, fluid and catch can
Serpentine Belt, and tools for changing
Rubber Gloves
Durametric
I've seen shift linkages break, so possibly whatever you need to repair them
Radiator/fitting failure is common, but I don't know what all you need to bleed the system at the track.
And then the basics....small and large torque wrench, etc.
Spare wheels/tires
Jack
Jack Stands
Hockey pucks
Wheel Chocks
Air Pump

Tools - full 1/2 and 3/8 metric tool kit, screw drivers, full torx, etorx, hex, pliers, etc. I can disassemble most of the car with what is in a 18"x10" tool box.
Caliper spreader
Zip Ties
Extra Brake Pads
Brake fluid (endless)
Disposable gloves
Window Cleaner
Rubber Remover
Quick Detailer
Paper Towels
Microfiber Towels
Brake Cleaner
OBD Reader
Spare lug nuts/studs, caliper bleeders, caliper bolts/stud nuts, springs, etc
This stuff fits fine in my front trailer box.
Key is good prep before you get to the track.
Oh, and keep an eye on your brake pads, a certain driver here likes to run them down to the backing plate and he got to learn how to change his own pads at button willow last weekend ;-) Luckily a certain other driver here with a massive amount of spares HAD a set of pads for him. This is the THICK side of the pad (trailing edge).
You guys are hardcore. For me the typical 2 day weekend.
1 extra set of wheels tires
1 extra set of brake pads
1 floor jack
2 jack stands
1 cordless impact
1 breaker bar
1 torque wrench
1 set of ratchets/sockets/wrenches
1 set of misc screw drivers, punches, allen wrenches, hammer etc
Everything fits in my frunk except for the extra wheels/tires.
