I CANNOT ever recommend SCarGo ... the antithesis of acceptable customer service.

Can anyone recommend a bay area shop that can perform coolant line pinning without having to remove the motor?

According to the DIY post below it appears it is. But not sure if any shops will actually do it. I've talked to one local shop and they stated the motor had to be removed to perform pinning.

talk to Alex @ Sharkwerks, if he believes it can be done "safely" then ok ... otherwise you may be taking a dangerous short cut.

While your engine is out, you could also install a LWFW and a Guard LSD

I spoke to Alex and he did recommend pulling the motor to perform the pinning, but we didn't get into the specifics of the drawbacks of pinning the lines while the motor is still in the car. I'm likely to go that route once my CPO is done so Alex can install the 4.0 lwfw/clutch, but I'm still interested if anyone has had the work performed while the motor is in the car locally to get some additional data points.

I spoke at some length with Brad at BR Racing in Los Gatos as I have been qualifying shops to work on my GT3 when it gets here - he seems very no nonsense and quite knowledgeable. He has a very interesting take on the issue of coolant lines in the GT3 and whether they should be pinned or welded at all - suggest you call him hear him out.

Either Bruce or Robb

Have had work done and SP Motorsports and couldn't be happier, love those dudes...but I also do have to give a shout out to BR Racing.

I run my cup with BRR, and my street cars usually go to them. When you roll up and see half a dozen Cups and there's usually at least 1 or RS's rolling around among other fun Euro metal you know they are legit.

Also check with us locals - I publicly shame and announce people who aren't pined or welded at the track - you don't run in my run group - not gonna run over your coolant and total my car

Bunch of us take this very seriously in NorCal

It can be done. I had it done on mine. Took about 8 hours from a very experienced mechanic/fabricator. Have to move the alternator out of the way.
