Default 997 RS 4.0 Rally car

Hi, it's my first contribution to the forum. As I am from France here a "local" news.
Factory Driver Romain will race at Monte Carlo Rally with a new RS 4.0 developped by his company RD Limited.
The orange color scheme is inspired by Björn Waldegard's 911 S during 1970 edition of the Monte Carlo Rally.

Thanks, this is a great first post.

A few rumors and test videos about this have been posted before but good to know about the historical context.

On this being a 4.0, I don;t think this car is an actual stock 4.0 rs, I am basing this on the lack of flicks as well as the trim elements on front fenders. On the 4.0, there is no trim and the whole thing is a single carbon panel, whereas this one doesn't have that panel.

I wish there was a way for us to peek under the hood to see the red cones of 4.0 intake and put this to bed as to whether this one is a 4.0 or a 3.8 upgraded for the rally duties.

I agree with m5trol.. Great first post.

Dumas was fast at his last showing. Are you guys planning to run any gravel WRC events this year?

Those are pmna bumper extensions. Fenders look wider than stock 4.0 maybe cup fenders to fit a 10" wheel hence the bumper part. It's a wide body so not a standard cup and it has the 4.0 wing. Mirrors are cup parts.

Kind of interesting. Expensive car to rally. Could have used a 997 cup with a punched out 4l and been way under this budget.

Here's a pic of car with the canards.

Thank you for your kind replies.
Here are some picture of the car first outing during WRC Rally d'Alsace (France, last october).
Romain Dumas won the class and ended the race 19th overall.
By the way, I 'am not focused only on Rally, I know well Romainn I am more a track guy and I am working with friends like frenchmen Patrick Pilet and Emmanuel Collard.

I will try to get info about the original car/chassis.
What I know is engine is a 4.0L prepared for rally use, bodywork is specific for rally purpose, made by Romain team (splitter, front end, fenders, air intake ...)

Now this is what PORSCHE wanted us to do with these cars! What is the total weight of this car?

As of yesterday the race was half over and the Tuthill Cup was leading the class.

Yes. I'm assuming gear ratios are different for rally use. Lower than road course set up.
