So, I received a set of the new HRE classic monoblok (305M) wheels I'd had on order, and was finally able to mount them up last night. I was a bit nervous about the style and color choice, since neither had been done on a Porsche GT3 before, but luckily I think they turned out great. Unfortunately I forgot to weigh the wheels before mounting, but they did feel significantly lighter than the oem wheels.
I have a feeling they might divide opinion here, but the blue is an homage to the company I work for, and is also close to the blue used by porsche in the white/blue RS color schemes found on the 996 GT3 RS and the original '73 RS. Plus I'm a big fan of the 5 spoke design used by other classic cars such as the Ferrari F40, 355, corrado VR6 and hosts of rally cars with Speedline and Compomotive's 5 spoke wheels. (to pacify any purists out there, I do also have a set of gold BBS motorsports wheels waiting for a dry track day, or at least dry mountain roads).
The car is still filthy from my last day at the track in the rain, and the drenched mountain roads, but wanted to share these initial pics. Hope you like 'em.

Yup, thought about that, but wouldn't look so good when I swap to the gold BBS. Will probably just add a couple nice GoPro (my employer) die cut stickers to add some more blue accents. Maybe have GoPro across the rear wing?
