I agree with Mooty. Tarrett or even erp on some parts will take good care of you.

Those are some harsh words there sir. Not attempting to win anyone over, just wanted to say that we have a few hundred sets of 987 bars out there and got a few broken rears. I am terribly sorry that yours was one of them. If I remember correctly yours were installed by a dealer in TX, and I offered a replacement rear bar for $170 and asked the dealer to extend the discounted price to you, hopefully they did... Anyhow I just work here, I don't make the policies, but I do the best within my authority to help. I know that sometimes that's not good enough. For that I am truly sorry.

FWIW, if it was up to me, I would not sell these 987 sway bars to anyone who's putting them on with stock shocks and springs because they were designed for the Cayman Interseries to replace the bars from the series's first bar vendor. So these bars were originally intended for use with racing shocks that have shorter stroke and heavy springs that favors a stiffer bar material which consequentially is a more brittle material. But they happened to make a stock car go way fast on sticky tires as they produce sooo much grip but then at such grip level and g-load these bars, particularly the rear, become the only suspension component supporting the weight x force of the car as the stock shocks & springs are simply over whelmed, they are just along for the ride. Other factors for rear bar breakage are long stroke(droop) on shocks fully compressing one side while fully extending the other side which pulls the bar apart from blade to blade like 4-5 inches, jacking the car up on one side and then dropping abruptly, uneven preload on drop links, compounding these factory with stock springs usually don't end up well. We have consider using a different material but then doesn't produce the same results on the Interseries and ITC race cars so for better or for worst we're stuck with race bars.

All sway bar on modern Porsche cars are hollow. Its not done to save weight. Hollow construction produces a spring curve that's more compatible with modern suspension/tires.

The truth can be harsh. Google "TPC Racing Problems". Tom can spend the rest of his life trying to defend all the problems......or not.

I googled exactly that and read 10 pages. From what I've read there were 3 unsatisfied customers(of which one crossed posted to different forums, two had received settlement). Actually not bad stats for having sold 1000+ suspension kits and 1000+ turbo kits. In fact, many of the posts were complimentary.

I apologize to the OP for being off topic.

I already called this. Told him to stop f-ing around, drop the car at his shop and leave a blank check. Do it right. Once. Anyway, it's this weekend he'll shake it down and then spend $100k making it feel and sound like his RS :-)

I am going to make it as quick as the RS on the track, I'm determined! You and Terry just be ready to give the point bys when you see a black Cayman in your mirrors. Now that I have good pads, I'm going flat out!

So a 100K Gayman that fetches 30K..
You and Mooty deserve each other.

We are just starting a new trend...west coast cayman racing. Be careful, instead of the 991 RS or Cayman GT4 you might end up buying your own Cayman S or R and building it out.
