GT2 with range 4 DME report
#32
I don't know about the GT2 range 5, but I do know about the GT3 range 5. If the number of ignitions is less than 100 or so, its not a big deal at all. My race mechanic has advised that if warning lights pop up after bad range 5 overrevs the engine is done. Range 6 is out of the question for any Porsche engine. Not all range 5 overrevs are equal. My 997.2 has about 200 range 5 overrevs and no problems yet. These cars are driven hard, the engines are more forgiving than most think.

What are the thoughts on 997 GT2 prices? Seems like the 996 has bottomed and may be set to rise...7 GT2 still has room to go down? The 7 seems like a better car.

997.1 GT2 prices already bottomed out a while ago, and seem to be leveling off and trending a tiny bit upward. Still a bargain, in my book. I'll probably snap up another if I come across a good example.

I know 996GT2 prices are rising, and from what I've loosely followed over the last couple years, 997 are also holding and/or increasing, think early last year was 996/997 low point

Yeah, 996 GT2 prices plunged a bit too much, in my opinion. Yes, the 996 wasn't popular, but wow did they get hit hard. I'm glad to see them getting appreciated a bit lately (particularly the GT2's).
