Default 380mm PCCB to 350mm steel 997.1 GT3

I purchased a 2007 GT3 which I will be picking up in a week.A tuner told me that a spacer could be removed from a stock 7.1 GT3 PCCB front caliper to be able to use 350 mm steel rotors of OEM and various aftermarket types in the front, and 350 mm turbo rotors in the rear. This would be the reverse of using spacers to increase to 380 mm rotors? If this is true, what models of turbo rotors fit the car? 996TT in the front and 997TT in the rear? I am doing this for cost reasons, as I do not want to spend $1600 plus on PFC or Girodisc, plus the additional pad cost for 380 mm rotors. If I desire additional braking power up front, I can always go to the larger rotors in the future. Thanks for the help!

Before you get crazy modding, as there are numerous different routes you can go, what is your end goal?

DE car only (not racing), with some daily driving once weekly or so. I want to use steel rotors instead of PCCB, but try to use generic rotors if possible. I did this with my C2S at Sebring with PFC08 pads and the brakes were actually very good, with 330 mm rotors and 4 pot calipers up front. I ran 2:32's with no brake overheating and had a fun time. I want to learn to drive the GT3 correctly and smoothly, not worrying about being the fastest, and not spend $3k on brake changes. The car already has safety equipment in it, along with OEM GT3 buckets/harnesses I had in my C2S, so I just need track wheels/tires, as my old ones will not fit, and different brakes, then HAVE FUN!!

I am sorry to inform you there are no spacers on the 7.1 GT3 PCCB calipers. The 7.1 GT3 PCCB calipers have a different bolt spacing than the steel rotor calipers. The calipers bolt directly to the uprights which has matching bolt spacing for either PCCB or steel rotor calipers.

There is a thread in the DYI section for installing 380mm Cup steel rotor but you'll need Cup "size" front pads to clear the larger diameter hat.

997TT rear steel rotors are a direct fit for the GT3 rear.

Your tuner was wrong..... There are no spacers on the front calipers..

Pleasure to be of service.

If you really want 350mm front brakes I'm sure someone will glady trade their .1 steel rotor calipers and uprights with you.
