The Mono is pure want. I wonder if hurdles to register it would be similar to the ones with the Ariel Atom. Savy, do you plan to put plates on it?

I'm not going to lie, I'd mount one to a stand or on the wall and keep it in my living room as a modern art piece.
You need Inconel spaghetti headers for the Z…..maybe even full exhaust. Imagine the music.

My uninformed guess would be you are on target comparing to Atom registration. That's why it's shipped here as a knockdown kit, so that it can be possible to register it as a "kit car" and bypass all the US crap. I'd further guess that if the CA registration was relatively easy, then any state would be as well? The car is after all intended from the get-go to be European street-legal with all the socialistic, labyrinthine, bureaucratic BS that must entail.

It's never been a strong desire personally to register and plate it because then there is insurance, the registration fees (initial/ongoing), and knowing the 50% of drivers here are in pick-up trucks who will never see me, and therefore are subject to run me over. Thinking mainly garage jewelery and Thunderhill West thrills.

Zipping out early in the morning for a traffic-free twisty road run is appealing, I have to admit. And I'm of the impression most Mono buyers fully intend to plate theirs. See video below for some on road hijinks.

Indeed. And a big cam. A huge cam. One that sticks out through the radiator and front grille. Everyone says put a big cam in it!

In all seriousness...the poor Z is hobbled with 600CPSI cats, so super restrictive. Yet it is still SAE underrated and dynoing at around 550hp at the crank. Long tubes, no cats and yes a more aggressive cam would make for an...ethereal driving experience.

Craziness, best viewed in HD, full-screen. Personally I don't condone street racing:

savyboy,

I have you seen the Project Dragon that Shinoo and Sector 111 is developing? It is a refined version of the Palatov D2. It certainly is not in the same class as a BAC but will be a good alternative to a Ariel Atom. A Chevy LS3 engine will make it a torque monster and it is mated to a Porsche transmission.
