putting the thread title a bit more into perspective of the Porsche racing cars, anybody has an idea if 2015 CUP and RSR will keep on using its 2014 engine...? I suppose so..but maybe someone had more insight info. For the RSR I think the case is clear..rules would not allow a major change for 2015 as Porsche did that already for 2014..next possible date would be 2016..correct?

thanks.

2015 Cup will use the Mezger engine. Only major changes are larger front shocks and switch from Shiftec to MEGA-line paddle system.

I race rally and love my GT3s on tarmac. However, I am sure glad when my rear end is sideways next to a 300-ft drop on a downhill, loose, dirt single track, off-camber hairpin that I am driving a balanced 4WD Subaru instead of my beloved rear engine, widow-maker. Nevertheless, it can be done!

Also, you think cup cars are expensive to race. Try rallying one and see how many cute carbon-fibre ornaments you are buying each time you are done flying that machine down gravel roads with big fat berms.

I raced with Jason in this and a few other rallies and he has been able to keep his baby in one piece, for the most part.

Don't look now guys, the Porsche just took the TUDOR manufacturers championship using the old lump in their 991-bodied car.

Sorry to bring this thread back to life - but wanted to ask opinions on attending a WRC event? Will be in Europe late summer early fall and may head over to Corsica. Is it worth the trip. Really interested in the Porsche 911. Is it correct to assume that they are in the same event?
