I looked into that car (maybe 3.5 years ago) and asked to come see the car. The used car dealer (Va Beach) said that it was out getting detailed and to set up an appt to come look at it but that he was really busy over the weekend so Monday was best. Worked for me since I was at VIR that weekend. I asked if he knew if the car had any track mods or track history to which he said it has NEVER been tracked. What did I see at VIR that weekend??? You guessed it, that car. Not sure why he lied about it as track time as it was actually being tacked that weekend! Doesn't bother me nor should it bother anybody if the car is maintained properly but seriously......it's one thing to not know and just claim it isn't tracked but to know what the car is doing at that moment and going full BS story makes you really appreciate buying from a trusted RL'er over a dealer anytime.
hmm agree that's a bit shady... no need to lie about it when the cars are made for the track, but I guess that would put me off as well. Is that the only "story" though?
I didn't dig any deeper after that. If I get the slightest whiff of something off, I'm done and move on. Maybe others can chime in on anything they have found.
I find it interesting that the restart of this thread is a 1st post. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I'm new to rennlist but have many posts on other forums of different marques I've owned. Been shopping for a 997 gt3 for 6 months now (not good timing btw) and found the back story on this one interesting.
