Default New GT3RS not a Turbo! but pdk confirmed:

It seems from latest testing at the Ring that the new GT3RS will not have a turbo, but that it will have pdk:

That wing looks almost identical to .1 Cup wing! Love it.

size of things matters!

Looks great! We can see the front fender camouflage hiding the vents as seen on the die cast model. I look forward to driving one. I only wished the engine would be raced and proven as well as keeping the weight down.

Weight is the real enemy.

Selfishly if PDK is actually confirmed (still yet to be seen) then that will cement the value of the 997.2 rs in for a while...

Not a fan of the wing uprites(prefer the 3.8 rs ones) and those side intakes- looks too much like a turbo side vents- wished it be a little more subtle. Mike

I don't know, definitely don't hear any blow off valves popping, but there is no shriek like the Metzger or 991 GT3 motor either. Maybe the driver is short shifting.

Displacement perhaps? Hell they went to 4.0L for the 997.3 GT3RS last hoorah and we've seen how much power a 4.1L can squirt out; confirmed my Dan and Alex from the last generations engines. Everyone keeps on crying about the Metzger is long gone and we have all these post about "BRING OUT YOUR DEAD -=DINK=- claiming Porsche's performance car doom as a result. Collectively we all don't agree Porsche knew what they were doing when they moved on from the old Metz but something tells me they have an ace or three up their sleeves. Though most would still love the manual trans. Truth be told in today's state of overall performance, we need the flappy paddles to keep up. But why can't the GT3's or even the Frigen.Turbos have a manual. They managed to do it on the the cheaper models. I mean come on man - Andreas Pruenger (SP?) Is really eating his words now because of someone's decision higher up the ladder. He had every intention for the GT3 to have a manual option.

I think the reason everyone cried wolf on it being turbo turbo is because of those quarter panel inlets but if you take a look at the RSR, it has those same inlets. Maybe they're trying to bridge the gap between the RSR and the GT3RS? Sheer speculation, and at this point, it's all we can do.

Side vents=better air flow.

I personally don't give a **** whether its a Mezger or not (btw, there isn't a T in his name). What I do want, is a proven, through Motorsport, power unit. If not, Porsche should stand by their bean counter based decision and warranty the engine even if used on the track (contingent upon the damage not being caused by drover error).

As for the looks, it's consistent with the latest design language and its motorsport models.

I reiterate, weight is the true enemy.

So far an official message was an exact opposite - those cars are intended for street with a 'mild' track use, and those who want a track car should buy a cup.

it is same they said for 991 gt3 and I bet same message will come for RS as they will be made on the same facility.
