Default 997.2 RS clutch alternatives

Hi - I am trying to find suitable clutch replacement OTHER than OEM - i've gone through two now. (have searched forum too!).

Advice from those who have gone aftermarket light version appreciated and best trustworthy suppliers as purchasing from UAE.

Thank you in advance.

Now don't kick me for saying this...because technically this is "OEM" but have you tried the 996 cup clutch/flywheel? Its a direct fit and its easily one of the best solutions I have found...it's pricy though...but easily one of the best I've ever used...obviously its quite loud when clutch is disengaged but the performance and response are sensational.

May I ask why not the oem 4.0?
Seems to work well enough and not too much $$.

^ & ^^ - should have qualified I don't want OEM that goes in the .2; Both seem good options but where can I find good places to source willing to ship to UAE? I know Sharkwerks does the 4.0; what about 996 variant?

Suncoast Porsche is a Porsche dealer and that is where I buy oem Porsche parts.
They have a good online order system and seem to have good prices.

Pretty sure they ship anywhere.

If you don't mind me asking, how many kms are you getting out of each clutch to date? I know a few 3.8 owners in Dubai, none of them have had to replace the clutch, some of the cars are tracked often too.

Unless you are doing hard launches i cannot see how you can destroy a clutch in 15k. What are the symptoms? Slippage (clutch) or shudder (pressure)? If you haven't already, speak to the Service Manager at Al Nabooda and ask him to take a look personally, he's a pretty good guy. Something else must could be the catalyst.

I'm in Dubai btw, I saw your car at Nabooda around a month ago.

^ thanks - and I like your car! yeah my car there for 9 weeks for second time rear screen blew out, damaged rear panel just below window and hydraulic steering leak so had to wait for parts from Germany then paint etc.

I have spoken to the service guy and unfortunately no help. I don't do hard launches.

4.0 clutch going to be ordered.

Was wondering what was up with the rear screen. I thought you were trying to save some extra weight. Love your car btw, only aware of 2 pts RS in UAE, your green one and an orange one with mk1 decals.

Not saying this is the case here, but FWIW, the most common clutch failures that I see at the shop is a result of banging the engine revs to the rev limited. The vibration produced by the rev limiter by shuddering the cylinders is damaging to the pressure plate spring diaphragm when it occurs frequently. Eventually the spring diaphragm will crack and shatter.
