Don't paint. Porsche got so many things right on the aesthetics with these cars. I just debated the same idea on my new Cayman R (which is kindred given all the 997.2-987.2 crossover). I'm keeping my silver wheels for now, but the gloss black with silver lips look so proper. Better than all gloss black IMO.

also, your post reads funny. You say you have a set of black wheels with silver lips then you state that you’re contemplating painting black. Then you state, wonder what It would look like with silver lips, which you already have.

I believe it was option code XD9 with the rim colored like mine. I think what you have with the petals is CRX. I have my white wheels as CRX.

I just received the set of wheels (pictures attached) but haven't mounted the tires yet. The car is currently at the shop for coolant line pinning. I'm considering painting the lip of the wheels to make them completely black before putting them on the car once it's back from the shop.

Not sure if they're OE painted wheels or not but here's an idea of what it might look like...

Don’t do it! Looks way better with the silver ring IMO.

* admittedly, I am not a fan of black wheels but the exception I like is Fuchs wheels with the black “spokes” and brushed silver barrel and your wheels are kind of a modern take on that.

Thanks and I fully agree. Works so well on the 997's lines and straddles the line well between fun color and "look at me."

Quick Labor Day GT3 and Gallardo drive with @doworkexotics . For anyone looking for an exotic for around $150k, hard to compete with the Gallardo. His is gated.
