There was a nicely built salvage title car that went for $55k in recent years, this was nicer and had a clean title so I was going to offer mid-way between those figures...
Anyway I hope you get it resolved and that the car works out for you.

^Westmont is a well established Chicago area pcar dealer. I like their two SAs...good men...
Sales...they don't click with me...Last year I looked at a GT3RS for an RL guy and it was a pos...similar story.

Wait...they did almost $50k of repair in house, and advertised the car as having a clean CarFax?! You didn't mention that in the original post. That is dealer deception at its worst...both in terms of neglecting to report their repair to CarFax, and then implying to the buyer that due diligence was done to uncover any prior damage.
Zippidy, I truly hope you take them to the mat on this...doesn't matter what you paid.

Sent the docs their way with a few pointed questions; still no reply. Trying to get the response in e-mail so I have it documented. I agree, by saying clear Carfax when they didn't report the claim may be technically correct but shady at best.
My biggest concern is if there was actual frame/structural damage, I can live with new parts but not something that is clearly fraud.

I'm certainly no lawyer, but at what point is this deceptiveness illegal?

Just got a response; per dealer, was spun and rubbed a tire wall. No frame/ structure damage and many of the parts were replaced due to pulling the eng & trans for maint. Having a track car I can see some of the items on the PDF fit this explanation. Still NO excuse for not being forthcoming with the info when claiming a clear carfax. If it weren't for the deal and the extras put into the car I would be going nuts.

Wow. I'm a little surprised, but I have to say only a little.
I bought my first Porsche from Napleton and I used to hang out with a bunch of their track-driving customers (I may know the former owner of this car but the guy I'm thinking of got rid of his GT3 over the winter). After fielding a Daytona 24 hour winning car, they shut down the entire race team and the GM left suddenly about a year ago. I suspect the check the owner wrote for the rolex on his wrist was bigger than he expected and needs to make it back so I suspect the new GM is focused on increasing cash flow, not customer satisfaction.
Too bad. A good bunch of good guys, but I drifted away over the years regardless. They were always crazy expensive for routine maintenance. The good thing is, their high prices forced to start doing stuff myself before I found a reasonably-priced independent.

I thought that kind of stuff happens with $5000.00 used car lots. However, if there was no insurance claim, repairs will not show on CarFax. There goes to tell you about how reliable CarFax could be. This is not the first time I see the scenario. It is absolutely unacceptable for the dealership not disclosing the information. Crazy.

I'm sorry but how was this fixed right and have a rust spot? This is not a 20 year old car we're talking about.
I hope everything works out for the new owner. it's a shame they weren't truthful about the history of the car.
