Perfectly normal symptoms; part of the Mezger's hallmark. Wouldn't trade that puff and chatter for a non-smoker DFI in a million years.

Think of it as a great Baritone clearing the throat before singing his pants off

.....and do not step on the brake pedal. Pressing the brake pedal releases vacumn from the case. I'm convinced, even for it's short period of time, the vacumn remaining in the case at shut down keeps that little bit of oil from passing the rings which creates the smoke at startup.

Ahh the love for the Mezger, should come up with a Tshirt! What was in the GT1 road car; Displacement and forced induction? They only made 25 of them right?
