Default Duratec Question

Does anyone know for certain whether the non professional ($347) version of Duratec will allow me to code (turn off) the TPMS warning light? Or the airbag light and/or airbags?

I've now heard two answers and would greatly appreciate knowing for certain.

Thanks all in advance.

Try calling Durametric. I think depending model type it will determine whether those functions can carry over on the enthusiast vs. pro.

I have the pro and was able turn off an annoying airbag light after changing seats out.

No. Have the Enthusiast version it doesn't clear codes much less allow actual sub-system coding. I'm not quite sure what good the Enthusiast product does to be honest. And that's after having played around with it for hours.

Airbag light off. Yes.
Turning off airbag. No. Need PIWIS for that.

not sure of your exact issues but...

you can disable the AWS in the passeger seat so at least the "passenger airbag off" light is unlit (meaning the pass. bag is active). you can also sometimes clear the dash airbag light depending on what the fault is. one time fault, yes. i've cleared mine before. but if it's something that keeps triggering every time you turn on the ignition, then no you need a Pwiz for that.

as for TPMS, if you are running wheels without TPMS and you want the warning off permanently, it's not that easy. i believe that in addition to a duraPro coding you also have to remove the TPMS module that resides behind the drivers side frunk liner. there are a couple threads on here somewhere by folks who have done it.

(btw, George, i'm pretty sure we know each other. PM me if youre doing the SP event this weekend. i will have a laptop and my duraPro there, we can hook it up and see what we can do.)

The "Pro" version can turn off the TPMS warning.
