SRT Viper TA. Current fastest stock car lap at Laguna Seca I believe (not the std Viper or non-TA). Now with traction control, and oh--did you notice the color???!! (Those are raindrops on the lens, not marks on the car.) Can't wait to drive it on my home track.
Would love to get my hands on the 991 GT3 for a spin as well, but don't disagree with our choice. I wouldn't want the car with a non factory-installed engine from the get go without a real $$ discount as a good faith gesture from Daddy Porsche.

So your club bought the Viper as a track car? I would be interested in discussing how you use it and share it among the club members. Do you use it as a training vehicle? I can't imagine letting students behind the wheel of that monster. I am on the exec of our local club here so I am very interested in the concept of the club owing a supercar.
Thanks
Sean
Great looking car by the way.

Putnam Park "The Club" -- See it at PutnamPark.com
This car, as well as an FR-S is available to Club Members and Clients who purchase day passes for an experience at The Club. For those interested, Putnam Park is a family-owned 1.8 mile, 10 turn track 30 miles West of Indy. It is a very safe track, with good runoff, and the Club facilities are top notch, with clean dry garages with electric and compressed air at every bay and a Clubhouse with secnond-to-none amenities (think lots of leather, granite, tile, stainless steel, 7 widescreens, professionally-installed sound system, stocked bar, pool shuffleboard, darts, and the list goes on).
The cars are available for rental to Club Members who are experienced solo drivers. There are dedicated Club instructors available for rental of the cars with instructor in-car. Not sure if a club member without significant experience is able to rent either car without an instructor. Our owner/leader/manager/racing-experienced all-around good guy makes very safe, very fair rules on all of this stuff.
I am running tomorrow, and while the beast is not yet ready with bar, seats, harnesses, etc., be assured I will be sitting in it making my own stupid engine noises when no one is around!

That was "second-to-none" amenities, and I am actually not sure about Viper rental to non Club members, even with instructor. But I know I get to rent it !!

I drove it into town from the track today to grab lunch--definitely a head-turner. It's kind of like bringing the circus to town. Everyone comes out for a look! The interior is very nice--Orange deviated stitching, leather dash--the doors are extremely light. The hood looks massive from the inside--probably because it is!
