Nizer,
Your point is solid, but the real value is in the rare models...hence the big price delta. Take a rarer car (RS) and then put a factory rare color on it and you have instant resale value champion/collectible.
For a driver, you're absolutely right though. You can get mechanically something very close for a lot less money if you go for a non-RS in a less rare color. But the real collectors and crazies are always going to pay more for the less common stuff.

Of course. But I suspect few of the buyers and even fewer of the cars being bought/sold are collectors. The rest are just overpaying for a driving experience that can be (virtually) duplicated for 30%-50% less.

For me I just had to have the RS in orange. While I would have enjoyed a "regular" GT3's performance just as much, I would have always regretted not getting what I really wanted. I ended up paying more than I liked for my one owner RS with 14k miles, but it was tens of thousands less than what they want for this car. I'm not sure I would have paid six figures, but if you want in the game now, thats the price.

I still pinch myself sometimes to be sure it is actually true that I pickedbio myborange car 12 months ago for 85K. It is tempting to think about selling. I would have a years woth of mortgaage payments in profit. But I would have this car to drive!

I followed the market for about 3 years before purchasing and yours is still the best transaction I saw. Glad you are enjoying it!
