18" wheels to clear 380mm brakes
Starting new thread...combines elements of other, very long, threads.
I prefer to use 18's for the track. However, I am extremely particular and I'm having unexpected difficulties finding a solution I like.
I have a 2010 GT3 that I have converted to 5-lug hubs. I ordered two sets of track wheels in when I bought the car in January and they do not fit, dammit! (still fighting with company at this point, will reveal when appropriate) The fronts were too wide (their 9" wheel actually measures 9 1/4"), and the inner diameter of the inner barrel contacts the caliper. Scraped the paint off the calipers in two places when test fitting. Recall that in the 997.2 the steel rotors and calipers are the same 380mm size as all 997 PCCB's.
It appears that mono block wheels provide the possibility of more room. Candidates include:
(1) CCW C10: least expensive, quicker to get, responsive customer support; butt fugly, heavy, tires tend rotate on them, and weights don't stick well.
(2) BBS Model?: expensive, have a few in stock, but may take long to get the others, painted not anodized.
(3) Forgeline GA1R: expensive, look difficult to keep clean, painted not anodized, take four+ weeks to make.
Interested in input and recommendations based on experience using any of these, thank you.
Blasted wheels; the one thing I took for granted that they would fit; now it is costing me track time and I am missing events...

Thanks; at least they do clear. Have you had any issues with Hoosiers rotating on the rims! or with having weight stay on?
I think the BBS's floating around were centerlock.

I'm happy with finspeed. Have a knurled beadseat option and they clear the brakes. They made 18" for me that clear 390mm discs. So they can get you extra clearance if you want it.

Good to hear, thank you. I hadn't hear of fin speed before; they must be relatively new. Very good that they can make adjustments to clear 390mm discs; that would give me plenty of margin.
Are you using 9x18 fronts? What offsets? The tires (I use 245 Hoosiers) clear the spring on the inside and the fender on the outside?

They are relatively new. I actually met Daniel(the owner) and Mitchell, the chief engineer when I was at COTA last month. They took time to give me a lot of info. I trust them. I believe he will stand behind his product.
Yes, 9x18 fronts. I can't remember exactly, but the offset is around 48 to 50.
FWIW, the Finspeed 18" clears the 390mm discs more than the OZ 18" I had before clears the 380mm rotor.
This is how much the OZ cleared. Finspeed is more than that over the bigger disc.
