The GT2 Sport Bucket has a hinge. Most likely a very well engineered hinge. Should you back your car into a wall whether or not the hinge fails will be down to angle, speed and your body mass. If you put a bar in the car a seat back brace would be a nice addition. Same goes for any seat.

I'm going to be selling my 996 Euro GT3 seats soon. They are buckets but are pretty comfortable on the street. Let me know if you're interested and I can get you details.

indeed. but try to find them. i had 6 pairs in the past. stupid to have sold.
