I am sure this will sell quickly. I am a little curious about a couple of things:

* Is this the old one (with tapered girth) or the new modified design with same girth throughout?
* Once installed, does the car appear to be modified to the eye?

I can answer the second - after installed (if done correctly) you can't tell from stock until you touch it or start the car.

Am I correct in the conclusion that while the numeric shifter + cables improves the 2-3 shift when WOT on the track, it doesn't really solve the problem completely?

From what I've read, it seems that if you really want to solve that problem, you need to replace engine mount + transmission mounts along with cup or numeric cables.

Does anyone feel that they've solved the 2-3 shift problem _without_replacing mounts?

Conversely, has anyone solved this problem _without_ dramatically increasing interior noise?

I've been on the fence on this mod for a while and want to have my cake and eat it too!

===> NONE of the shifter and cable will fix that prob. it's 90% the issue of the operator. i know two guys who are 3-4 seconds faster than i at TH, they drove my car, they have no issues shiftnig, i drove their car (they have no prob shifting their cars) but i encounter same issue. they shift much slower but drive much faster. the mod is to give you a different FEEL. some like it some dont.

===> engine mount... well, my two track car had solid and semi solid mounts. and the 6 cup is solid mound also. i stil have the same prob, others claim my car shfiter perfectly and proceed to produce must more consitent and faster lap times than i can. one of them only drives 8/10 b/c he's in my car and still 3-4 secnods faster than i. unless this is your stripped track car, i advise STRONGY against any tranny mount other than oem. but for women, it's good. the whole car vibrates like stuff you can buy from 'good vibrations'. in the norcal DE group, we installed it and ripped them right out. b/c i dont like driving tamplings.

==> not me.

==> LOL, when you solve this problem, call me. i would love that.

===> me too.

This is a great mod, especially for the price. The feel is much more precise, with that precision comes driver improvement as feedback is better. As Mooty says with driver improvement the 2-3 goes away or at a minimum dramatically improves.

It's like taking the condom off.

BUT, for me, the shifting issue came from the transmission twisting under high lateral loads, which cause the location of the gears to change, even from 3-4, making it really easy to miss or get lost. The Transmission mounts virtually solved the problem. The numeric system didn't really touch solving that problem - but it made it much much more obvious which gear I was in, and when I made a mistake.

I had these in the white GT3 and now in the RS. Love the bolt action riffle shifting.
