Default For those of you running Movit brakes...

Cutting to the chase:
Are those of you who bought 'just' replacement rotors as happy with their choice as those who bought the full Movit kit?

I'm considering replacing my PCCBs (on my Cayman R) with Movits, and I'm wondering if I need the full kit to be happy.
I'm leaning towards getting their replacement rotors for the PCCBs since I will still have the PCCB and iron options.

Thanks!

Well, I am running the full kit so can't give comparison, but it seems to work just as well as the pccbs did. Who else is running these? Come to think of it, what is the life of a pad on these? I am still on my first ones and no change in performance so far (nearly 2 years?)

I am running alcon ceramic rotors. They are made by surface transforms just like movits are. I have 7 track days on them now. The front pads look to have 7 more. The rears have at least 2 more days. They are pagid rsc 1. Not sure but I bet thats what comes with the Movits.

Have you thought about this option?

SICOM EUROPE - CCM Refurbishment service - SICOM Brakes - High performance ceramic braking systems - CCM brakes

Yes, I do run it in my own car, and in process of testing here in the USA.

What does the refurbishment cost for GT3 RS rotors? Are they the same weight as OEM? How long does it take to turn around a set rotors? I am getting close to needing

A buddy just got a set of monolithic front rotors from SurfaceTransforms. Pricing is competitive (about $10k per axle incl. a set of RSC-1 pads) and the product looks the part. Comes with RSC-1s like the other poster mentioned. Am gonna try them on the track early next month and I have high expectations...

Pics attached. Looks to be a slightly smoother finish than MovIt. Shockingly light... wait for it... 11lbs each and these are 396mm fronts!!!

I don't know how much the Surface transforms cost, but if it's anything close to what is posted on their website, the refurbish program is much cheaper (and it should) as it works with a provided core.
In my case, we choose to start with a core that was completely destroyed, even chipped.

I'll see if I can dig before and after pics.

^ Yes pls! I do have quite a few mangled cores including one rather badly chipped. Last I read the refurb costs around 8k for four corners or has it become cheaper?

Sorry I misspoke about the pricing with SurfaceTransforms. They're about $10k per axle.
