Harbor Freight Tire Trailer Examples?

I actually mounted my taillights backwards on the bracket so that the trailer can be lifted up by the neck and leaned up against the wall if necessary to create more space. I wouldn't do that without some sort of bracket on the wall to make sure it didn't fall. Fortunately my new garage is big enough that the trailer can be stashed out of the way in a corner.

Unfortunately the pics are dead but Jenner had a really nice example he setup using an HF trailer:

I think standing on it's end against a wall is ideal for one of the little HF trailers. I'll order one next week and see what comes about. Might even paint it orange to match...

Jamie, send a message to loworbitsi (Aaron) asking about his setup. He used a harbor freight trailer and was able to do a build relatively cheap that's extremely effective. I think the weak point of the HF trailer is the grease in the wheel bearings. I believe you need to re-pack them before use with better grease in order to get them to live.

I like harbor Freight. To me, its worth waiting fer, after we do our Costco run (we have neither in our
isolated place in the California Mojave). BUT (or However) I would hate to see a lovely Porsche torn up because of a cheapy trailer. SO just for safeties sake, buy the trailer and look over all the welded parts.
I have never seen a bad weld there but I have heard. So look over the trailer and if anything looks
a little cheap re-weld the places that look a bit suspect. Heck you could just weld one up yourself.
Find a buddy who you know, knows how to weld, and ask him to check if for you.
Just a thought. For safeties sake.

I used to pull the red Harbor Freight trailer with four tires, toolbox, jack and stands, behind my Boxster to/from the track. Worked great for a couple years until I relented and bought an Aluma car trailer. I had the four tires sitting upright, perpendicular to the trailer tongue down the center of the trailer, held down with four ratchet straps. It was well balanced and never even noticed it back there while driving. When not in use, it was easy to stand up in the corner of the garage (without the tires, etc. on it of course). For $150 plus some spare green-treated wood bolted to it, it worked like a charm!

$150k+ car.
$150 trailer.
Don't go that route. You'll regret it.
At a minimum do something like this-

I've sent the pic to a local fab shop in Auburn. Godspeed Fabrication. Robb and I will discuss... Seems the HF trailer is working for quite a few on here. May use it as a base and have Robb modify to make it better...

Found it

$800.00 and have to pick it up in Idaho... Hmmm... also takes up quite a bit more space in the garage, but is a much nicer trailer... Decisions to make...

Hey Jamie,
I've had very good luck with my SuperSport trailer. It's very lightweight (aluminum, less then 200 lbs), very well balanced (low tongue weight) and the torsion bar suspension and larger diameter tires address the major deficiencies of the Harbor Freight units. One major advantage is that it is easily stored on end when not in use.
Unfortunately I don't believe they are made for tire applications anymore (the basic design is still sold for motorcycle trailers) but sometimes you'll find them out there used. You could try contacting the company that makes them and see if they still offer the tire trailer version; http://motorcycletrailer.com/ss/index.html
