Default Active Rear Wings

Hi All

Has anyone out there played around with active rear wing technologies?

I recall sometime back that one RL member had worked with Aeromotions

I contacted them and their systems are complete in that you need their wing etc.. kudos to them as it took substantial time and effort to develop.

I am interested in seeing what can be done with Cup uprights and an RSR wing.

Any feedback appreciated

if you are looking for the last few 10ths it will make a difference for sure
just look at F1 and German Touring cars
reduced drag on the straights, max wing under braking, usually max wing under side loads

Its an interesting proposition

Since adding the wing and with the wing set at a moderate angle of attack my mid corner speeds were up significantly, the downside was straightline speed was compromised too

All up times were reduced but if the boundaries of compromise could be widened then there is more time to be taken out

Accelerometer, servos and a control board. Or do a full Syvecs S8 and just have it run the servos. I'll have the Syvecs, cup uprights and RSR wing... Maybe we can develop something!

Hi Jamie

Interesting,

Today I found a good actuator, just trying to work out whether to use single pushrod link or double

Car is away at the moment and I need to get some measurements done to determine space and mounting points

Will send you a PM

Based on early 991 GT3 spy pics I thought we might see it on the GT3 ...maybe it'll show up on the RS instead?

Well spotted

problem is the decklid of the 991 isn't a fit on earlier models, but the technology may still be accessible

interested in what you guys come up with, i spoke to aeromotions after they had built this for the .1 RS wing back in the day, was hoping they were going to do one for the .2 RS wing but never took off for them

I never quite understood why the Aeromotions wing never really took off in the Porsche circles. I really thought their active wings we're going to become popular on Porsche's. I know it's expensive, but many people spend the same amount of money or even more on other Go-fast goodies in order to be able to get around the track faster. Some of which make the car more difficult to drive at the limit for your average Joe and can even sometimes slow you down unless in the hands of the well trained. Yet, the Aeromotions wing is proven to work on track and will give you better lap times. I guess it's just hard for people to justify spending 6-10k on a wing that moves but doesn't give you any more power lol But if I was a track junky and wanted that extra bit of time knocked off my laps, you can bet I'd have one on my car!
