Default Rear Brake Caliper Studs

I have seen a couple of references to rear brake caliper studs for the .2 GT3 RS. I have even seen an aftermarket set that hasn't been installed yet. Does anyone know if there is a Porsche or Porsche Motorsport approved part?

With the standard OEM bolt Porsche says the bolt needs to be replaced. I was told by a Porsche mechanic that this was due to the bolt stretching. If this is true would a stud suffer from the same metallurgical issue?

Great upgrade, go with the Porsche Motorsport parts, install and you will not have to replace them.

You should also get them for the fronts as well.

NorthVan,

Did you get them through your Porsche dealership? Do you have part numbers for the Motorsport parts? I looked online at Suncoast, but didn't have any luck finding them there.

Check RPW, these are PMNA parts:

There are other sponsors that carry them.

This thread has the part numbers:

If the dealer has an account with Porsche Motorsports they can get them. I bought mine from the Indy that I use, he has a cup car and an account.

I got mine from Eddie, but it took 6 months. Wasn't in a hurry though...

This is an excellent, easy mod that makes changing pads much easier and eliminates any chance of jacking up the threads in the hub carrier. I can only assume that you got the proper nuts (999-076-083-02) as well, right? In the Motorsports application they are "one-time" use....
Check the DIY section, there is nicely made thread there about the install of these studs. Best, Dave

Please send pictures when you do this and report back. I'm curious what they look like and what is involved in making the switch.
