Default Replacement Caliper Options

Hi All

I am at the point of replacing my calipers and wondering if any of you have done same

and if so, what considerations did you give to your purchase.

I run Mov'It ceramics and currently on original calipers

Just interested in what options there are and any feedback you may have

thanks in advance

Mike, if you want to replace the calipers go for a race product. The ones on our cars are NOT really race calipers, and as most can relate to, they have decent amount of deformation under high pressure and temps.
Only system I would consider is the Brembo ones and those are not necessarily the cheapest out there.

I agree, the stock front calipers do lack the center "bridge" to prevent flexing under big pressure/heat, it's also partly why we see tapering wear on the front brake pads. But the price of entry for those full race Brembo's is painful...that's the RSR caliper. I'm just a DE smuck.

I would call our's "race"....and those beauties "full race".

Relaying feedback from my shop re brakes: Stick with the OEM stock calipers. They only recommend the Brembo race calipers for upgrades and feel non-monoblock designs are a downgrade from OEM. FWIW.

Other question is what issue are you trying to solve with a caliper change?

Stock is great for 99.9%. If you do quite a bit of track work, then the stockers will start to show heat/usage. Basically, reds will get much darker (certainly don't look stock after prolonged track use). I've heard that yellow will also darken, but not as much as the red callipers. People running the stock PCCB callipers seem quite happy with them, even when swapping out for steel rotors and driving hard on-track. IMHO, upgrade only if you need that last tenth, or if you find a smokin deal and want to preserve you stock stuff.

That Maroon color says you are going fast but getting into ABS too much. Especially common on Caymans
