Also, can anyone confirm Motul 8100 X-cess 5W-40 is Porsche approved? I believe it is.

Thanks. Looks like that's just under 9 quarts.

It's 9.5 quarts if you change the filter and let it drain completely-unless you're not talking about a 997.2 GT3, not sure about the others

I have a 7.1 GT2. I am assuming a similar amount to a GT3.

It could be that the GT2 takes less oil than the GT3, maybe it's the same as the Turbo, and owner could post here to clarify.
An accurate reading on the GT3 is with a hot engine, above 200 degrees. After change, cold/warm reading usually shows under. If one panics and adds more oil during a warm reading, once it reaches hot temp you end up finding out it's too much oil. It might be similar with the GT2 and Turbo, and maybe it's 8.5 instead of 9.5 in your case-

I've been using the Mobil 5W-50 since it's hot in FL
Careful draining, it comes down fast!

Yep exactly. And when you take out your filters inspect them for metal shavings and what not. You can nip things in the bud before they get bad that way....

Just did my .1RS and it was 9L (9.5qt) exactly to get the level meter to the full bar when the car was hot. Started at 8.5L(9Qt) and it needed another 1/2 qt once hot.

What if your tracking your GT3? Some suggest to slightly under fill - thoughts?
