Default slighty OT: 2014 GTR vs 2011 GTS

I have owned and been driving both cars. There has been alot of debate and discussion about the GTR so I will add my 2 cents.

The GTR is a great car(spoken by a Porsche owner of 25 years). It is wickedly fast and in R mode it handles very well and is quite stiff. I have about 3100 miles on the car and will do my first track day next week. Its a great daily driver but unfortunately the backseat is a waste. Last but not least the most important question...if I could only keep one.

Surprise surprise its the GTS by a mile!!! The GTS is probably the greatest car I have ever owned excluding my CGT. Porsche got it right with this car as it does everything very well. Its plenty fast and it handles like a dream. Sorry Nissan folk but there is no substitute.

Rich, I agree with your statement. Before I bought my GTS, I too was thinking of getting GTR. After driving both cars, I decided to go with the GTS.

GTR is a very fast car but I can't get connected with the car, it needs a soul. GTS on the other hand is very different. Didn't mean to disrespect to other GTR owners but I love my GTS.

I believe in 10 years time, GTS will be one of the classic water cooled 997. Keep her and your CGT, those are great cars.

GTS is certainly better looking than the GTR.

I've not owned a GTR, have driven them, and while they are very fast, very good cars, Porsche has that feel the GTR does not. My money stays with Porsche. It's it great we have that choice?

Love that drive! Looks like a week day morning! :-) Was a little busier Sunday this past weekend. The other pic is very early on a Sunday a few weeks back.

The GTS is such a great car. I am saying this after owning 3 GT3's. You can drive it 1000 miles and get out and feel good! Love it.

Last DE event, I was behind a GTR with my GTS for my final session.

He owned me on the straights but I was on his bumper in EVERY corner.

the love for cars has nothing to do with speed for me, at least.
GTR can win 24 hours of leman 100years straight, it's still fugly. you cannot out run fugly.
it's a fast car for sure. but fugly.
i think i take a pinto of over GTR. it looks more sleek

the only thing i do not like about the GTR is the styling. I am a sucker for things that age well and the GTR is not one of those cars. In time it will still be fast but will be lost in the crowd as far as body style is concerned.
Will most likely end up in the hands of the tuner crowd.

Everything else it does is outstanding!
