Default Water pump differences

Replacing water pump on the GT3 after one of the coolant hoses popped last week.

Noted a distinctly different pulley vs. the "normal" M96_97 water pump. The castings carry the same number and the impellers are shaped identically, so was wondering what the real difference are between the two pumps.

Even though the pictures are deceiving, the pulley on the "regular" one is about 10mm larger in diameter than the Mezger one. All else being equal, the regular one would spin slower, pumping slower than the Mezger one.
Were one to consider swapping one out for the other, your sepentine belt will be too tight / loose.

Ones driven by the grooved side of the belt the other the back due to different routing of the Poly-V belt.
