And yes, I will "shut up and drive it" - but until then, wish it had a manual...

it's a car I really want to take for a hard drive, but don't want to own one....yet?
if anything I could see converting my GT2 to a track car and buying an old air-cooler for street-beating...

Agreed, a lot of talk for and against before the car has landed. I still though it was relevant to post the Evo vid the other was 'just there'. It can be agreed Porsche never produce a 'crap' car like a lot of other manufactures just some Porsche models are greater than others and some are truly beautiful...

I just don't get the 'I will never' comments, I have seen this so many times before.

First in line for the RS. Gotta try it but I'm not that excited.

I expect a power hike for the new RS along with weight loss, this would spike peoples attention I believe...

All you have to do is watch 11:50 to 12:20 of this video.

That says it all. It isn't a Mezger motor, it's lost steering feel, and on the street you miss the manual. Porsche could have stuck the 3.8 Mezger in the base with 450hp, added in the wiz-bang kit and sold every one of these they built. Why didn't they? Simple. The Mezger motor costs more to produce and Porsche is all about profits these days. The GT3 as we know it is dead -- long live the new 991 GTS-R with powerkit.

Walter has been quite consistent on that for as long as I can remember -- at least before the Carrera GT, perhaps around the time of the first 996 GT3 (circa 2000.)

It just brings back the remorse of selling a pristine 965 RS America -- nowhere near the RS itself, but still, with no sunroof, just a/c, LSD, white, '94 (which meant rear seats, which were lighter than the '93 with twin gloveboxes in carpeted plywood) and in white.

Talk about manual cars, the RSA had manual steering, 1st was too short, and not enough power (272 hp?) to use 5th gear, so it was a 3 speed 3 pedal car!

Maybe it's time to find a really nice 964, get the engine built by 9m, get someone to seam weld the tub, do an integrated roll cage and get the vanity plate "pendulum" ...

I sold my 94 Guards Red in 2000 with only 855 miles on it !
If you've seen the recent Hemmings Sports & Exotics with the RSA on the cover, that is (was) my car. The only one of the 11 Porsche's I've owned that I would like to have back. I believe it still only has ~8k miles on it.

This is the one I want to test drive. Just trying to find the time to take it for a ride before Eddie sells it. Should be a great sample drive..

I liked the first review. And I have to say the up shifts sound awesome especially when winding to 9....

My friend called me last night as he usually does before buying a car which he does ALOT. Trading in his Lambo 550 for a new GT3 that he is putting a deposit on today. It was that or a GTR. Funny this review covered that.. I told him a Mclaren but he didn't want to spend that scratch on a car he plans to track 15times/yr.

That said, I will never part with my RS.
Will I someday have a 991 in the stable? Who knows. Certainly looks to be a sweet ride.
