Default factory wear sensor on PCCB brakes

is this at the 5mm mark? My pads are now 7mm at the front. From new, they are 10mm I think.

If the factory wear sensor comes on at 5mm then I'll just wait for it to show. In any case, I think it has about 2 track days left. what do you guys think?

Pads wear in a wedge shape and its actually possible to go to metal without the sensors actually going off! Don't use them as an indicator for track use. Visual inspection only as PCCBs are far too expensive to get this wrong with...

As a generally rule of thumb and depending on the level of risk you are willing to take, once pads are down to 50%, its time to replace where track is concerned... Be sure to verify measurement at thinnest edge of pad too... Not unusual to have a 4mm difference from one edge to the other...

New pads are generally 17mm thick including backing for OEM pads...

At 7mm, assuming this includes backing, yours are well and truely done....

Oh okay... Just check your thicknesses at the top and bottom of the pads... IIRC, the magic number was 10mm (including backing) for track use and they're done- they start at 17mm new... Don't rely on those sensors, my dealer bridged them and I run without now for the reasons stated above...

Sensors totally useless. Pads wedge out, or they melt. Either way not even worth the plastic they're made out of.

If you track, you need to loop the sensors wires to bypass the sensors and do a visual check of the leading edge after each track day, keeping in mind the uneven wear that the sensors will not pick up
