If so how much HP loss? You should see how quickly the lot fills for Caffeine and Octane these days.. I may need the extra HP?

Let me think about that...
Seriously though Dave. I put one or two seals in the first one I had...never fixed the leak. Not a big deal, just aggravating more than anything. I wouldn't change the flywheel though. That car is pristine.

these cars leak. Unless they are used daily they will develop leaks with time. Normal.

My dealer ignored a RMS leak last year before i shipped the car from canada . I drilled them for it as my warranty expired April 2013.

My car sits for 6 months of the year in hibernation and from what I am told the oil eventually will find its way out as seals and gaskets are not exercised. Cup car mechanic told me that it cannot be avoided with a car that sits for long peroids of time.

Nature of the beast.

New seals will only buy you time.

RMS issue is my excuse for a weekly drive.

My .1 leaked (dime size) when I first purchased it from an owner who probably didn't drive it much. I have driven the car 3x /week during the spring/summer/fall for the last 2 years and I can tell you it's no longer dripping.

Probably because i'm burning it off

So... It's a front Seal that is leaking (RMS was damp only) which apparently requires a bit more labor to replace as the motor needs to come out... estimate $3,300.

Hennessy is Appealing w/ Porsche in hopes for some participation...

Front main seal is easy to replace. Does not require an engine removal! Procedure: a) remove bumper b) remove rear center muffler c) lower rear of motor a few inches d) remove crank pulley e) swap seals f) reassemble

Should be a 2 hour job

BTW, if they do have to drop the engine you should see about getting the water hose connections pinned.

Now there is a small puddle in the garage and clearly a leak. So my question is will Porsche Participate in the $2,200 repair?

How often do you drive it? If not often, it is normal. The RMS on these cars needs pressure to seal properly. If not driven regularly they will leak. Changing the seal will not fix a garage queen leak. Driving it a few days in a row or getting 1-2 good track days on it usually seals it back up.

Update..
As mentioned before, the Front Seal is Leaking fairly bad. RMS is weeping. Porsche Decided to do nothing in the way of participation on the repair. The CPO went out in April.
Technician (Who was great BTW) said that the car held perfect vacuum so it is bad seals.. He was surprised at Porsche not participating, at all... He said that because I had the sensor unhook for the exhaust baffle, that can cause an issue... The proper way to do that if you always want your car loud is to put b-b's in the hose so that it keeps the vacuum and the oil can properly drain to the sump when the engine is shut off.

The repair (via Porsche) is $3,300 because they have to pull the engine. As others have mentioned, there are other more efficient ways to do the sam Front Seal Repair. Porsche will not do it that way.

They suggest that I fight w/ Porsche to get some participation. Any suggestions on what channels?

TIA
