What would you drive? Singer 911 or GT3 RS 4.0
I have been obsessing over the 964 lately (I just love that body style) and the recent threads with magnus walker and singer pictures are not helping *at all*.
So, I was thinking if you don't own either and the opportunity presents itself to drive one or the other, perhaps for 30 minutes on an empty track, which one would you take?

If it came down to it, the 4.0, as much as I love the Singer cars, they're works of art, I would have a heart attack with the rock chips and door dings. With the 4.0 I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I just test drove a completely rebuilt, as new 73 911 that Kelly Moss Racing built. They brought it to Road America for the race this weekend. Jeff Stone (KMR President) and I talked about the Singer cars and the one I just drove. I also own a 4.0 and a 73 with a 3.2 L short stroke motor, etc .
I literally got out of my cup car and into this 73.

For a 30 minute *****-to-the-wall thrash: 4.0.
To drive regularly on the street: Singer.

Driven a 4.0. Agree it feels similar to a 3.8RS. I'd take the Singer.

The 73 has a 3.5L engine that is making 361 HP on the dyno. You read that right. The car, with Dynamat insulation and a heavier (non 915 transmission) weighs 2140 lbs. Full interior, no ac. It is mechanically flawless.
Anyway, getting out of the cup and directly into the car I took it off the track premises on the adjacent hwy. The car is simply unbelievable. It was tighter than any street car I have ever driven. Every single part was new excepting the original tub. Many upgrades were implemented, but the car looks stock to the naked eye, well mostly stock.
This is a different animal than Singer, but if you want ultra high performance and mechanical perfection in an older body style, this is it. Singer's weigh 2,400, but the customer for this car owns a Singer and on the pad was closer to 2,500. With a 915 tranny, the KMR car can come in around 2050....again with a full interior.
I would encourage you to investigate this option. PM me and I can give you more details. The car is unbelievable.

Hard question. Neither. Daily would be a Boxster, weekend a Singer, and track a 4.0. It would be a PITA and heart breaking to deal with a fender bender on either the 4.0 or Singer.

How does the Kelly Moss car compare $$ wise to the Singer? I'd love a Singer. Just read- entry price is $190k, then up from there.
