Default Recaro SPG XL Installed

So I had GT2 seats. I thought I fit in. They look super nice of course.
After about few month of usage, i realized that my shoulder wasnt getting enough support and my thighs were hitting the console during cornering at the track.

I have very irregular leg:torso ratio. Short legs and long torso and wide shoulder. Wide shoulders dont help either. Basically, my shoulder were just overlaying the gt2 seat side support. I wasnt tucked inside. Im 6 ft tall 185 lbs. SO big guy with thick cycling thighs. So no skinny jeans and no skinny bucket seats. I ended up with this.

Big thanks to great friends around me! You know who you are that helped me. Oh and Mooty's valuable words to me at last Thill event "You should get Recaro. Trust me! You will thank me later".. then he disappeared into the shadow...
He was right.

Using OEM Cup Sliders with recaro side mounts and GT3 Sub bar. One suggestion if anyone is doing this:

1) do not tighten sub bar all the way. Losen the 2 nuts so it has a play. Sliders will not line up with you tighten the sub bar all the way. I was cussing and sweating for 30 minutes to get it lined up before doing this.

Seat is SUPER SUPER easy to get inside the car. So much easier than GT2 seats and lots of clearance behind it against RSS rollbar.

Took a test drive around the block and freeway ramps... my body is stuck to the seat. I feel more connected. Now, i need to go to the track asap.

Good choice. I have recaro pole positions. Came with car and Was going to ditch for gt2 seats but I really like them. And light too. Mine are mounted with rss side plates and rail adapter and recaro dual lock sliders.

I think gt2 seats are 35/38 driver/pass weight. Spg xl is listed 19.8 lb. That is without side alum mount and sliders.

Ya... It is still back of my mind... So sad how the driver died. If halo.. Definitely need to swap out to quick disconnect steering wheel... I'll do one day of track next month and rest it out.

U could buy a halo seat for track days

Seats bolt in / out ini minutes

If u go quick release wheel I have a works bell from my 997 that I will sell cheap, it keeps the horn working
