Slighty off topic...997GTS
I have a 2011 GTS...thinking about trading for a 2014 Nissan GTR black edition.
Thoughts, opinions, suggestions are appreciated.
Not loving the 991's and need a back seat because I have two kids. Maybe I will keep GTS and get GTR. Lastly, I drove the GTR yesterday and the performance is very impressive.

well, of course the GTR is a different level..I dont know about your car situation but my advice would be..
1) if you own already a 997 GT2 - GT3 variant: sell the GTS..get the GTR..
2) if you dont own a 997 GT2-GT3 variant, buy one of these..and get at a later stage the GTR which will be loosing more value in 1-3 years then the GT Porsche variants....
Hope this helps..

650 Hp Mustang has rear seats.
Nissan is awesome, it drives by itself, it makes anyone look fast everywhere. Best car for rookie street racers, rookie drag racers, PCA Green group drivers. It comes with a personality, and a different crowd, you'll need to to adapt, especially in CA.
For street driving, GTS is fun, GT2 is boring, 997Turbo more boring, GTR is the King of boredom. The couple of times I drove it, I only had fun with the GTR doing stuff that would be considered not legal for public driving. GTR makes boring sounds, it is disconnected from the driver, too isolated, it is ugly, it is too ugly, it is very ugly, road noise is annoying, and suspension is too stiff for street driving.
Kids love GTRs.
911 GTS is one of the best DD ever created, their resale is pretty bad (due to 991). 991 is more boring than 997, but faster, GTR even faster.
997 GTS is pretty and fun.
Keep 997 GTS, buy 650 Hp Shelby if you want impressive power (left over ZR1 are cheap too). If you still want more power, a few pennies make the Mustang a 800Hp car.

Don't bother with the gtr Rich. It will be for sale before you get home.
You've had fast cars so it won't be anything new.
And it is painfully boring.
Or, buy it so you can check it off the list...

There are bunch of places you can rent a GTR from. Rent it first. You will probably not want it after that. That is what happened to me. Impressive car though.

^^This. I rented one for a day then rented one on track. Immediately proceeded to GT3.

I test drove for 20 min.. Car is Damn fast.. Stupid fast. Ask yourself what you want to do with the car? Dd only? Occasional track/de? Car is fast in anyone's hand. Car will correct a lot of mistakes for you and almost impossible to spin out or even drift.. Computer will kick in and fix mistakes. So at the end, it gets boring in different way. Yes it is fast... Around corners.. Straight away.. All that.. But not very involving... Porsche Kool aid taste better than Gtr kool-aid.

I had a 2012 gtr. Traded for a 997.2 gt3. That was a great decision for me. I loved the gtr for what it was, but the gt3 is more involving. The things I miss on the gtr: back seat for my kids but that was used rarely and putting in car seat wasn't very fun. Blizzaks and awd for the winter is amazing fun. Launching the car is crazy. Gt3 sounds better, has a feel that can't be touched, and is better looking car (Porsches are classic, gtr is just weird looking). Lastly, nobody bothers me in the gt3 (waves and thumbs up) but the gtr attracted a strange crowd. They would approach you anywhere, which is scary at night in a random parking lot. And weird people constantly wanted to race at every stoplight, which isn't ok for me.

I think the 997 GTS is the car most people actually want when they think of a 911... 2WD, plenty of power, big rear fenders, nice interior - a great all-around car.
Too many were sold with pdk and/or CLs, though.
