Default Where to find Nitto NT01 305/18?

Hi.

Anyone know where to get the 305's?
I've purchased the 315s online at discount tire direct and eBay in the past, but don't see any listings for the new 305 size.
Thanks.

Discount Tire Direct (online) will order them for you. Since they are brand new, they have been slow to update their website. I've asked them again to upload the size. Also MDRUMS posted contact info for a Florida Discount Tire shop that stocks them. Monty was his name....I already got my set from those guys while online keep dragging their feet, and I need to order another set soon.

I actually just put in another call to them to remind them, he said he was telling his manager. Should be uploaded soon.

performancetread.com is an option too. He is higher on the rears but cheaper on the fronts so it's pretty much a wash.
I talked the them today and they can get the 305/35/18. You just have to call him. Talk to Jim.

I've got a 997.1 GT3 I'm running Nitto NT01's 245f and 315r. Seems to match rolling diameters pretty well. Do you guys prefer the 305 over the 315?

The rolling diameters are close enough so the car doesn't notice.

245-40/18 is 25.55
315-30/18 is 25.35

1. For those who drive with TC on, the 305 will be the better option.
2. Load rating is also more ideal via the 305
3. Handling more progressive at the rear with the 305 (more sidewall).
4. Less understeer, via a smaller split in size from front to rear

I don't ever drive with TC on, but I still prefer the 305. I just scrubbed in my first set over the weekend at Mid-O, and they are great, as expected. Just like any treaded R-comp, they are a bit slower until they start to wear in, but they will be considerably faster than the old RA1's, I can already promise that.

I turned similar lap times on full tread (6/32nd) NT01's (245/305) as I did on full slick, prime RA1's of the same size. That's saying something because Mid-O really rewards a "slick" tire surface.

The only difference is that the NT01 has a slightly larger diameter than the 305 RA1 (26.42 vs. 25.3), so the car has a bit more rake (about 2-3mm), and thus is a bit more lively at the rear end. You can either adjust, or elect to just wear them in, as I have.

Regardless, you can't go wrong with either NT01, I just prefer the 305 which is why I campaigned so hard for them to offer it.

Tires ordered!
(And thanks to those who campaigned!)

I ran the 245/315 combo on my C2 for several years without any of the issues that some have reported (icing mode, etc.). But have been unwilling to try it with the .2 GT3.

So far I've only run Hoosier R6 on the GT3.
Now that the 305 is available, giving the rear a slightly greater diameter, I'm looking forward to my return to the NT01. Watkins Glen will be the first test.
