Default 997.2 GT3RS vs GT3 ALMS car

I drove Thunderhill last Mon / Tues w/ Cantrell Motorsports. What a great track! It's as good as everybody said it is and I definitely want to go back for more and soon. Just slipped under the radar at 102db w/ Akrapovic race exhaust (header, high-flow cats, & center). By the end of the second day (about then the clip below is taken, I was running 1:59 - 2:00 lap times. So figure I'd be a bit faster w/ a bit more time on track. I'm definitely holding back in T8 as my RS is my daily driver too (and quite frankly, I didn't have the nads to push it much harder).

Below is a video link showing the performance delta between an ALMS prepped GT3 and my road going version. Except for exhaust and EVOMS tune, my car is mostly stock and I'm running Trofeo Rs. (Also have cup cables, numeric shifter, CMS bar, and fire bottle).

Both the white and green car where part of the Competition Motorsports group. Not sure who is driving either car -- they mostly kept to themselves. Craig Stanton was going coaching but I don't think he was driving. The white car is a cup series prepped and the green one is ALMS prepped.

The performance delta between my car and the green ALMS car is nothing short of breathtaking.

Here's a couple of faster laps, but w/o the cool cup cars around, which is probably why they're faster

Nice driving and footage.

Do you mind sharing what camera set up / model that is. It seems a lot better than most.

thanks.

Roland, that's insane... You were maintaining mostly with the cup, the ALMS was crazy fast. That's truly impressive...

I was there and that green car was stupid fast; Roland you were only extremely fast! Very impressive.

For fwd, camera, just a GOPRO Hero3 mounted to a rennline gopro mount. For rear, facing, somebody loaned me the go pro mount shown below. It holds a fwd and rear facing GOPRO camera. I just merged (editing) the two videos to create the rear-view mirror effect.

A lot more spring rate and less weight on that ALMS car. Plus it's probably on slicks not R comps.

What's the long pole for and where did this machined beauty come from?
