Default Disassemble Centerlock Nuts

Guys,

What is involved in pulling the centerlock nuts apart? Any info would be appreciated.

Grab a piece of timber (framing pine off cut), hold your bolt and bang it (thread down) a couple of times until it falls apart. Real easy and the timber ensures you don't damage the bolt as it dents instead

You may need a mini flat screw driver to pry away the metal ring from the base once its come apart. The grease tends to hold it in place...

the big metal flat washer can be a pain to remove, as 911rox alludes to. i use a narrow sharp-ended kabob stick to gently lift it. the pointy end gets right in there. a screwdriver will work but i prefer wood to avoid scratching anything
