this is some good stuff.. for the money, why even get oem rotors. I saved my oem sets aside and. use pfc rotors/08 pad exclusively. They last and performance is very consistent and keeps biting and biting.

I think u can just replace the rotor and keep using the alum hat (w new hardware) when your rotos wear out. with oem(gen 2).. you can't do that as they are welded 2 piece right?

good point about the hardward

Clark - are we supposed to use new hat/rotor bolts when replacing rotors?

Not sure on PFC rotors / hats but for Brembo you are supposed to. I typically do given that the hardware kits aren't that expensive...but do seem very expensive considering its just a bag of bolts!

Hats can be re-used, just replace the hardware/bolts when installing new rings.

that makes it even better alternative compared to oem. With brembo, u need to replace the whole thing? now, can alum hat fatigue? maybe the retaining bolt threads may wear but at least u r not replacing it every time rotor is replaced. I can't see how the thread holes

now for the rear, is it true that due to e brake assembly, most people use turbo rotor or oem rotor - which theoretically lasts twice as long?

the 08 pad a great endurance pad. I've had 4 track days and it has lots of life left. compared to oem pads, this is no brainer.

advantage of 01 compound over 08? more aggressive?

Replacing the hardware is not necessary each time you replace rotors,.
Hardware is reuse able with PFC.
