Default track wheels

i have ccw and price/quality is good.
also have new 19 oz ultra 5 lug set that I don't know what I'm gonna do. I do drive to track and plan to get a number pull open trailer or tire trailer to pull w gt3. For now I don't like the idea of driving 150-250 miles (or 500 to norcal) each way on r888 or future nt01 on 18s. need some future planning advise.

would you:
1) use 19 oz as practice tires to learn new tracks or whatever and then 18s to go flat out. (if trailered)

2) sell the 19 oz and get 18s and have two sets.

how do you guys like jongbloed wheels? since non of affordable 18 in OZ clears 380mm calipers on my car (gen 2 converted to 5 lugs), I am stuck with custom wheels or 19 OZ.

Put street tires on the 19's for rainy events, keep R Comps on the 18's. I think one set of 19 and one set of 18 is a good idea as its getting harder and harder to find street tires that fit the rears of our cars in 18

+1, run 18's on the track unless you have wet days (do those happen in SoCal?)

Tire choice should dictate your decision e.g., if you want to run NT-01s, you have to use 18s.

I vote
-car trailer over tire trailer
-18 over 19 if you are not driving gt3 to track
-get trailer sooner rather than later and dont spend waste money getting set up to drive gt3 to track in the meantime

Btw - used 19oz wheels do not seem to be selling quickly right now

ive been searching for used trailer - if i dont find in time, i may need to just rent a uhaul trailer for pca july event. I dont wanna drive from socal to Thunderhill.. 500 miles of cozy time in gt3 with no spare wheels. I worry more when i come back after abusing tires for 2 days in a row.

That is the best reason, as well the comfy soft seats of the tow vehicle. I have had 2 separate occasions where my car wasn't able to make it home on it's own power.

I also got stranded at THill with the 6t when my coolant plugs came out. Then at Laguna a flat on my new MPSCups. Trailering makes a lot if sense... I need one too!

i am a drug dealer.

norcal crew would be disappointed if you and drl fail to show up.

also, it's three day, not two days. ncrc is right before GGR.

As mooty says - if you buy new, still not that much more expensive than used and resale is very high when you decide to get enclosed. Buy rack from trailex and drive down we put it on together. I have done it once so sorta know what i am doing. We can do your track pipe at the same time! Forget fuel jug and tool box for now worry about that later.

I thought someone said drl was a real handy dandy guy and can build anything in his garage.

mooty - i am real stubborn and stupid and think someone will show up with a trailer to sell to me. Seriously i may need to just call your "guy" then im gonna bug you so that you can hire some cheap labor to haul it down here for me.. i have one month =(

dont need Fuel jug .. i carry siphon pump around the track and go begging for fuel

im gonna just mount left over mpss on 19s on the OZ and practice on Thill first few sessions.
