Shop to Recharge A/C in Bay Area
A/C is no longer blowing cold so need to have it recharged. Anyone recommend a place in San Francisco or somewhere off the 101 as far down as Redwood City?

Howard Ave Radiator in San Carlos. Dinky shop but they are honest and will inspect your car's AC for leak for $45 only. They use a sniffer to pinpoint the leak which is much better than looking for UV leakage.
Make sure you fix the leak first or else the refrigerant won't last the summer.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I took your recommendation and went to Howards AC Repair this morning. My car had .35 pounds of freon when the spec is 1.98. No wonder why it was blowing lukewarm air previously. The A/C tech checked the rest of the system and found no leaks. He said if the A/C compressor goes unused for a long period of time the oil can settle in the compressor and then lead to leaking. $145 out the door.
