Am I dreaming? Finding a 2007 White GT3 with 50k mies?

Interesting topic!
General question: IMHO, buying, say, a 997 Turbo with 50k miles is scary but doable. I've bought tuned 997T with 38k miles.
Don't you guys think buying a 50k GT3, which has most likely seen lots of track driving and generally was squeezed like a lemon (with corresponding wear of everything), is not scary?
Has any of you bought a GT3 with that kind of mileage? I doubt this, most of you who bought used GT3 had 10-15k on the clock, MAX.

I think you run the risk of getting a badly beat car when buying a turbo at 50k miles as they are more likely to be owned by a yahoo with no intention of keeping or really caring for their leased car in the first place. Some of the stories here in the states are epic of flashed & over-boosted nightmares that end up in the second hands after weekly drags either on the street or actually drag strips. Somewhere I have a photo of a hugely bent connection rod from just one of those turbos. Not going to see that in a GT3.
Like anything -- there are certainly lots of turbos that are well cared for, just my bet as a percentage, the GT3s are better cared for as a whole.

I would tend to agree with Hoosier_Daddy based on what I've seen thus far in the GT3 community. The GT3's seem to be over-maintained (but exercised) by many owners.
Now that I actually own a GT3 I can tell you something else interesting. Although my car is a 3.8L, I doubt I'll even be hitting Range 1 overrevs with any frequency since it actually has a very wide powerband...much wider than I thought before I ever drove one. Obviously that doesn't to protect against mechanical overrevs or anything like that, but the reality of this engine isn't what I thought prior to owning/driving one. Shifting at even 8000 RPM is quite exciting!!

Here is my theory...
1st off I have bought 2 brand new E46 M3 and a new Jeep Wrangler (I live in the desert) since I started driving. All three times bc "oh no I want a new car that I am sure no one was beat u bla bla bla...."
All three cars were driven hard on the track or in the desert, all I would not have minded keeping them longer...
My theory is that with modern cars there are only 3 main things that you can do to treat them "bad".
1. Rev the engine high/hard while it is still cold.
2. Not change the oil at least every 15k street miles when using good oil, more frequent with track use. Maintenance in general.
3. Mechanical over-rev
1 and 2 will not kill an engine, decrease power a bit due to wear and just decrease its total life before it needs a rebuild/dies > 100k+.... I dont plan to keep any car that long.
Driving a car hard just causes accelerated wear on the wear items. Since I also will drive the car hard it just means I may have to do a maintenance earlier... Still less expensive than the delta of buying the car used vs new.
Will the car have a few more chassis creaks then a low miles car.... Yes... But since I am not interested in spending $90k on a low miles GT3 or a new one... Ill take the noise...
The ideal is buying a freshly released car 4+ months after it was released, low miles and still with warranty.... Let someone else take the depreciation ht!

Every car should be treated on a case by case basis... This is why it's important to have potential purchases be thoroughly inspected by a GT3 specialist, who understands the intricacies of these cars.

Any opinions on this car? Don't really care for the wheels or sunroof... What's up with the foam on the harness bar, is that common?

however id want the stock wheels too.
The roll bar is nice. It wants GT2 buckets seats to make it worth while.
Foam was used to protect seatbacks when reclined. Generally roll bar cars have straightback that do not recline. This car does not.
All north american GT3 had sunroof. RS did not thankfully.

Thanks for the info.. Thats really sad about the sunroof!
A bit of a general question with the limited info we have, but with that roll bar and that seat combo can a 5/6 point harness be used?
With other cars I have used usually the factory wheels with rubber can be found at very reasonable price... Is that the case with the GT3?
