That's awesome.

Now, the repairs the Porsche has made to these lines, even if not reported to NHTSA will work in our favor. That's if Porsche don't lie or cover it up.

This is fantastic. Bravo to whomever instigated this and saw it through.

I wonder if the same steps should be taken to initiate investigation into the cam actuator bolt failures and the pressure plate failures?

Actuater bolts are repaired under warranty, PP and clutch are wear items, even though when they fail there is zero wear...

Excellent! Cam bolts should be recalled, but aren't a safety issue like coolant fittings, so unlikely NHTSA gets involved..

As someone who's experienced this twice on track following late model GT3's that blew coolant fittings all I can say is it's about time. I saved one spin and the other almost ended with my car in the armco.

This should take care of any questions about why not everyone gets the warm fuzzies when Preuninger says all GT3 owners are happy with their purchases.

I wonder when it will apply to cars later than 2007?

I would expect Porsche to dig in their heels... at least for a while. My guess is that it will be awhile before Porsche starts fixing on their dime, if ever.

I love how they are asking for all advertising and promotional materials showing the cars being used in track or race scenarios or that they are being portrayed in such a way. Once that happens, I am guessing they can not stand behind that veil any longer that we are abusing the cars as not intended by the manufacturer.

I don't know whether anyone has provided NHTSA with information about the steps that PCA Regions are taking to avoid further coolant hose mishaps. As of 2013, PCA Upper Canada Region has revised its tech inspection form to require that (i) fittings be pinned or welded or (ii) the car is running water wetter. If other Regions are taking similar steps but if they are, it would help convince NHTSA that this is a widespread concern.

OHIO PCA is the only one I know of. Others in denial and don't know what to do - They are waiting for PCA to decide. National Safety Chair WELL AWARE of it. Ask me how I know.

Hopefully this will flow (no pun intended) world wide as a recall. Will certainly hit my dealer with the US outcome either way.

Following very closely.
