It is addicting to drive and you get lots of thumbs up and occasional paparazzi from other cars which can be alarming especially if the person is driving at the same time! Not for heavy traffic, and front lip spoiler acts like a snow plow. Otherwise not as jarring as a 997.2 PDK Carrera which I have also driven.

Unless the OP has to commute to an office with steep parking garage/parking lot entrance, no reason not to DD a GT3 - as I do. Everything else is dullsville, and life is for enjoying every moment possible.

Definitely doable. Especially if you have the front lift, stock lip (not cup lip) and stock ride height.

I find the gt3rs much more comfortable around town than my 993 or 996 cars were. PASM on soft will soak up the bumps better. The clutch is heavy, but with e-gas, you don't have to work hard in stop and go. Just let the clutch out (do not press gas pedal). The gt3 will automatically add the gas for you...no stalls...very sweet.

You must be driving a different model 997.2 GT3 than mine.

Did 10.000 km of DD, trackdays and a couple of roadtrips during 6 months last year. No problem at all if you have a set of headphones to take the noise away when you need to call or listen to music. I ordered a roof rack for this season so I don´t have to take the wifes Golf when I´m going Mountain Biking

In comparison to my former 997 Carrera 2S which had the Eibach suspension system, I actually think the GT3 suspension is more comfortable around town.

I DD my .7GT3 and it is fine. I've yet to scrape my front lip, but I do have airlift. You do occasionally scrape the front wheel arch liners under/behind the lip though. Basically if you don't care about your car and think about you approaches you will damage it.

It is a bumpy ride at slow speeds on undulating roads, but overall very liveable as a DD if you are a car enthusiast.

I like my GT3 and my RS just on the track. Not a fan of regular driving around in them.

I feel like a target with the wing and all the noise. A target for every idiot in a hot rod mustang that wants to race or ask me how fast it goes. And a target for police -- do ANYTHING wrong and they will pull you over.

The ride is not so great as the fixed seats are uncomfortable, the cars are loud (I removed the side mufflers) and in the GT3 it is extra crazy loud inside with the solid engine mounts.

I have a dark gray pepper GTS that I drive around town - quiet, doesn't stand out, but still fast.

Nothing practical about driving this car in the city, at least not in San Francisco. Take your eyes off the road long enough to check an address and you risk a blown tire on a manhole cover you never before thought to avoid. Then, again, there's nothing practical about owning a GT3, but dang is it fun.

Ha! This thread is revealing (and a bit intimidating) for someone like me who has yet to take delivery! I'm having a good time following along though.

The suitability of a GT3 as your daily driver depends as much on your roads as it does on the car. Driving in Austin I'd daily drive a GT3 and it would only be moderately annoying. Now that I live in central Houston it's beyond impractical. The roads here are just so, so, so much worse. There are plenty of parking lots I just can't get the GT3 into, even with a high tolerance for scraping. Some roads I just can't drive down for fear of damaging the car. I didn't make it a year in Houston before I bought a bitch car to drive to work.

Thanks for all of the feedback! A GT3 is definitely not for me it sounds like. The cabin noise, rough clutch, low front spoiler, no backseat, rough ride all bump me out as a candidate. I fell in love with this car (below) and was trying to convince myself to get it. Love the look and love the color!
