If you have to take the engine out to change the seals you might as well do a 4.2 rebuild while it's out

Update.

I have been monitoring my RS oil weepage while it is in storage.
After stiing from April 2013 to September 2013 it leaked oil again. Cleaned it up and did not start the car. Kept it in storage 4 more months.
It is now December and here is the amount of oil that has leaked out during storage. Also note the small little "dark" stain on the floor which might also be a different seal leak.
(see photo)

Now, im told that this is common for these engine if they sit for long periods of time as the oil will eventually make its way out when not used and will go away with driving it.

It really sucks to have to clean up everytime I return to my vacation home. I have two V-twin style motorcycles that also leak the same way when sitting for months on end.

This is its way of saying it's pissed off at you for not driving it more. I've been told same by my shop, drive it, it won't leak.

That amount seems excessive, but then again, I never left mine undriven that long. I have left it once for 30 days, and there was but a small (maybe a quarter-sized drip) amount that leaked, but definitely didn't start an oil stream like your picture shows. When driven regularly, it hardly leaks at all. Drip pan in order.

My GT3 has been stored for the winter every year since I bought it. It hasn't leaked more than a few drops, and even that was rare. Winter storage is for min four months.
