Default Sport chrono question

my new to me 2011 RS has the sport chrono, as does my Pana Turbo.

When I am not using the sport chrono on my Pana, it displays the time. It also illuminates at night along with the rest of my gauges.

In the RS, this is not happening. Is ere a way I can program the sport chrono to display the time and lint up at dark, just like the Pana?

I couldnt find anything covering this topic in the voluminous manuals. Thanks to all.

Rob

Don't think so. I am interested to hear what others say though too.

Rob congrats on the car. I just pulled the trigger on 2011 RS as well. Which one did you get?? You are in my neck of the woods as well, I am in Huntington Beach.

Any others in our area???

Hoping I will be soon enough... just looking for the right car.

To the OP: I have an 09 carrera with SC, and no, it doesn't show the time or light up unless it is on, and I'm not aware of any tricks/dme hacks to get it to do that. So it's basically a big wart on the dash board that never gets used and is a novelty.

It's an easy programming. Just ask your dealer. I just had mine programmed to light up with the driving light. Dealer didn't even charge for it.

Now THAT is the answer I was hoping for!!!

Likewise, I assume I can have the dealer program the horn to beep twice (along with the twice flashing lights) any time I activate the alarm.

All of my other Porsches do/have done this and if I recall correctly, it is a simple dealer program.

Rob,
Does your RS have PCM? If not, this is why.

AFAIK, the chrono guages on 997 cars can be programmed to be illuminated along with other gauges. However, I've never heard of anybody getting time to show up on the digital display.

I do this by starting and stopping the chrono timer, but not switching it off.

I'm pretty darn sure I have PCM, although I have given up trying to keep up with all the damn Porsche acronyms. My car has NAV and it has the universal audio interface. However, it won't support integrating my cell phone, so I presume that is because I don't have bluetooth.

That's about all I know. Regardless, any and all audio in this car is pretty much worthless because of all the motor/tranny/tire noise!!!

If you have NAV then you can get clock to work on your sport chrono. Read your manual.
Or, call your dealer service advisor and drop by with your car, they will handle it for you! That's what I do. Good luck Rob.
