Default HANS advice

I am hesitant to run harnesses without a HANS device. What is the recommendation for the most comfortably least cumbersome HANS model? Anyone have any experience with the Necksgen? Looks like a good product in some cases superior to the Hans. I'm not racing btw, just DEs and lapping days about 15 times each year or so... Thx...

Hans is not uncomfortable at all. I really like mine. Perhaps a sport 2 would be good for your needs- it is lower profile.

I ended up buying the adjustable version, gives you some intermediate adjustmment points vs. the fixed. It is heavier though but I really don't notice it.

I have a necksgen. Same deal, DEs only for me. When wearing, i don't even notice it's on unless I try to turn my head too far. It's comfortable on my shoulders.

I have a necksgen for DE's. Go to an appropriate shop and try them on or ask around at your Porsche club what they use and why.

If I were going to get something new, I would check out Safety Solutions. Has protection from all directions, not just forward like Hans.

Powdrhound, I have owned several HANS devices and recently upgraded from the older professional series to the newer pro ultra. I do not think the adjustability in the other new model is that important if you buy the correct angle. The pro ultra is also considerably lighter than the adjustable model. I have used the same device in street cars, cup cars, LMPC cars, Lites cars, Radicals, etc without any problem.

Sport 2 is probably what you may want to get. It is more rounded in the back and a bit lighter than the sport, but not as light at the pro.

20 degree angle is the standard, but depends on you seating position. All these years I have been running without one, now I cant imagine running without it.........

I recently bought a Necksgen because I was having trouble climbing out of my 914 window with the high profile of the HANS.

I wore the Necksgen for the first time this past weekend at a DE in my GT3.

At first it was very uncomfortable and digging into my neck and shoulders but I decided to remove the fastners from the sliding adjuster and "VIOLA" the device now floats and takes a "set" as I cinch down my belts and I cannot feel a thing.

I will now put my HANS up for sale if anyone is interested. ...not because I didn't like it, but because it
potentially obstructed my egress from the 914 which had me a bit concerned.

I just got one of these. FANTASIC, much more comfortable in most race seats...
