Default Hurricane Sandy Casualty 2011 GT3RS

I was perusing salvage Porsche's and saw this poor thing. Looks in okay condition, but you really can't tell from pictures. Looks like the water reached up to the rear seat carpet....so that would leave me to believe the motor was partially submerged. Has anyone gone to see this thing?

Other than the obvious things like mold damage, electrical damage, salt damage do you guys think it is worth the price? 65K is a big gamble...

Hmmm I didn't see another thread. They say it runs, but I would have rather them not try to start a car that could have water in the cylinders, corroded pulleys etc.

There is a thread on 6speed documenting a re+re of a another GT3 victim of Sandy. This is a big project, many of the wires are like corroded.

Yah I just read through the other thread. This one will be more difficult simply because more time has elapsed. The other car was purchased in January, so the corrosion was minimal. Looks like it is driving now after 2 months of work. I hope someone can save this car.

That would be a great home for it. Although, it won't have a "clean fax".

I wouldn't touch that car unless you're prepared for a full restoration.
It can now run, hell it might not even have any lights on,but this is what happens with salt water...it works away... And by that I mean,in time no matter what you do it works,it corrodes away at the electrical system...harness,plugs,wires etc. Eventually it will light up like a Christmas tree.
Unless you dip the whole car in sweet water, which sounds like a stupid idea,to clean all the salt off,the only other option I see is to change a lot of the electrical.
If this was a sweet water flood,I'd say go for it without a problem.
