Default Anyone have their RS repainted?

Curious if anyone has had their 997.1 or .2 repainted and if so can you share a few pics. My white .2 perfomance wise is an absolute dream but the color has always bothered me. Never really considered selling it so figure I might as well not have to deal with the color longer term. BTW not concerned about resale whatsoever.

You could wrap the car........much cheaper, not permanent, and won't hurt the future value of the car.

Yeah I thought of wrapping but have heard people with issues on uneven wear and bubbles in the summer from heat plus on the RS I still would need to deal with the rather hideous red/orange accessories i.e.mirrors, wheels, splitter inserts ,etc... Was thinking as an alternative to just leave it white and then replace all the accessories. Similar to this:

Keep white and add black or silver accents. Gorgeous combo. I love the white .2 rs

do not paint the car. It makes it look cheap.

get a wrap or buy another car.

i have never seen a color change on a modern car look classy.

I've had a few cars painted over the years. I would never change the base color. Too difficult to get all the paint where you need it, especially when you open the doors, hood and trunk. In fact, if I could avoid paint all together, I would. I agree with those who suggest to wrap it. I've been very surprised by the elegant wrap jobs I've seen on many of the Cup cars. I would have thought they were paint, but it turns out all of them were wraps.

If you are not concerned with resale why ask about repaint? I don't get it? Just take strip paint off to metal then primer then couple coats of paint. That applies to every car in this world. Nothing special about repainting any car. Is car dented as well? Mike

u can repaint it. but to do it right, you need to remove engine, wiring, tranny, suspension, glass, rubber and every single nut and bolt. i have seen it done right. a mid level job is right about $100,000 USD. it's in much better condition than oem paint.

+1

I have a shop that performs restorations and to do a color change we would take it to the bare tub and start over. Which is just crazy talk on a modern 911.

Nothing more lame then seeing a different color in the engine bay etc....

And i am a sucker for keeping color codes matching the trim tags no matter how ulgy the color!

who said anything about concourse. i was talking about painting a track car.
i aim for quarter a million for concourse paint. the interior single stage paint of my stripper's interior, excluding door, only the tub and only the cabin portion is well over $6,000. if you want to paint something paint it right.

moral of story, dont paint anything unless you have a very very large bank account.
